Dartmoor In A Day 2027

Dartmoor in a Day invites adventurers of all levels to explore one of England's most stunning landscapes. Set for September 4, 2027, this challenge offers two options: the full 50km ultra and the more accessible 30km route. Both courses wind through Okehampton before reaching Postbridge and culminating in Ivybridge.
Participants will traverse wild moorlands dotted with natural beauty spots like Hangingstone Hill and Bellever Tor, offering breathtaking views of Dartmoor’s rugged terrain and distant sea vistas along the Erme valley. The course is entirely off-road, crossing clapper bridges over rivers such as the Avon and navigating stepping stones across the West Dart.
Support comes in the form of experienced Mountain Leaders who act as mobile marshals, providing navigation assistance and first aid coverage throughout remote areas. Checkpoints at Postbridge and Combestone Tor offer refreshments to keep energy levels up for this demanding journey.
The event concludes at Ivybridge Community College where runners can enjoy post-race food and drinks while celebrating their achievement with fellow participants. For those needing a bit of extra support, an optional coach shuttle service is available from Ivybridge Community College to the start line before race day begins.
Dartmoor in a Day is not just about reaching the finish line; it’s about embracing Dartmoor's unique landscape and challenging yourself amidst its wild beauty.
