Classique du Fer - Jernbaneklassikeren

The Classique du Fer, part of the prestigious Gravel Brevet Series, invites cyclists to embark on an unforgettable journey through Denmark's rich railway history. This March 7, 2027 edition retraces paths laid by Per Hansen and Vejle Styrprop Fabrik, creators of the legendary World Championships in Rail Cycling. Riders will start from Brædstrup’s historic old station building, where remnants of a storied past linger within its walls.
The route follows decommissioned rail lines through picturesque landscapes dotted with historical gems like Den Skæve Bane and Bryrupbanen. A highlight is the crossing over Den Genfundne Bro—a bridge steeped in Danish railway lore, once traversed by veteran locomotives puffing steam across valleys. Cyclists will pedal along these same tracks on their modern steeds.
This event celebrates grit and perseverance as much as it does history and scenery. It’s not about podiums or prizes but a tribute to the spirit of iron—shining in bikes, cyclists, and the very essence of this journey through nature and time. Join us for an early spring classic born from Danish rail dust, camaraderie, and affection for simple yet profound challenges.
The Classique du Fer promises a unique blend of adventure, history, and community spirit, making it a must-attend event for cyclists who cherish the essence of cycling through both heart and wheel.
