Cape100™ is an epic 100-kilometer point-to-point road ultra marathon that stretches from the coastal town of Hermanus to the scenic Stellenbosch Winelands. Taking place on September 5, 2027, this race offers runners a challenging yet breathtaking journey through diverse landscapes and terrains. Participants will face an elevation gain of approximately 900 meters as they navigate winding roads that weave between picturesque vineyards and rolling hills.
The event begins at dawn in Hermanus with a start time of 5:00 AM, allowing athletes to tackle the early morning coolness before temperatures rise later in the day. The race route features numerous water points every few kilometers, providing essential hydration and nutrition along the way. As runners approach Stellenbosch, they are greeted by an enthusiastic crowd at the finish line, marking their achievement with a memorable Cape100 Black Carpet™ Finish Experience.
In addition to the stunning scenery and supportive atmosphere, participants will receive official race gear including a technical tee, cap, athlete bag, and a prestigious finisher medal upon completion. To secure an entry in the race, athletes must have completed at least one officially timed marathon of 42.2 kilometers within a specified timeframe between January 1, 2026, and May 31, 2027. This qualification ensures that all participants are well-prepared to take on the demanding Cape100 challenge.
