Caatinga Trail 2027 - Etapa Cigarra

The Corrida Caatinga Trail invites runners to explore the rugged beauty of Brazil's Caatinga biome near Vitória da Conquista, Bahia. This fifth edition promises challenging terrain and intimate encounters with nature as participants navigate through trails, dirt roads, and dry riverbeds in a landscape transitioning from drought to rain.
Runners will choose between four courses: 7km, 15km, 21km, or the full 35km route. Each course offers unique challenges such as steep ascents and descents, technical sections with loose rocks, and stunning views along the Rio do Gado Bravo. The shorter routes focus on the scenic Trecho da Garganta area, while longer distances extend into more remote regions, including a notorious old road known for its difficult terrain.
On October 17, 2027, participants will gather at Lagoa do Vitorino, a quilombola community located about 20 kilometers from the city center. The event begins with staggered starts at 6:30 AM following an early morning assembly at 6:00 AM.
This race is not just about distance; it's an immersive experience in one of Brazil’s most distinctive natural environments, where runners will witness the stark beauty and resilience of the Caatinga.
