The Great BVRT Challenge is an epic endurance race that offers runners two distinct yet equally challenging routes: the 100-mile and the grueling 200-mile course. This meticulously planned route takes participants through some of Queensland's most scenic landscapes, from picturesque rural towns to lush forests.
For those tackling the 100-mile journey, registration begins at the Yarraman Heritage Centre in Yarraman. The race follows the entire BVRT (Brisbane Valley Rail Trail) before concluding at Ipswich Grammar School Playing Fields (IGS). Runners will join the start of the shorter 50-mile event near Toogoolawah and then merge with marathon participants as they pass through Coominya.
The 200-mile course is reserved for seasoned ultra-runners who have met specific qualifying criteria. This route starts a day earlier at Ipswich Grammar School Playing Fields, heading north towards Yarraman before turning back to meet the starting point of the 100-mile race. The journey through the BVRT not only tests physical limits but also immerses runners in the rich history and natural beauty of Queensland.
