Bodenham Bound 5k and 10k Winter 2027

Join us for the Bodenham Bound – Winter 2027, a thrilling winter trail run through the picturesque grounds of Bodenham Arboretum. This year’s edition is not just about running; it's also an opportunity to support local causes as we raise funds for HELP, our community-based homeless charity, and Harkaway Scout Group.
Participants can choose between two routes: a 5km course or double up for the challenging 10km option (2 laps of the 5km route). The multi-terrain trail features winding woodland paths, rolling hills, open ground sections, and stretches with harder surfaces as you navigate around the arboretum’s boundaries. With three valleys converging within Bodenham Arboretum, expect a varied landscape that offers both scenic beauty and physical challenges.
Winter conditions are an integral part of this event; prepare for mud, rain, frost, ice, snow, or any other elements typical to January weather in Worcestershire. The terrain can be slippery at times due to the mix of surfaces and winter conditions, making it essential to wear appropriate footwear like trail shoes.
Race day is set for Sunday, 3rd January 2027 (with a reserve date on the 17th if necessary). Registration begins at 8:00 am with start time at 9:00 am. Early bird entry fees are £16 and standard entries cost £18 online only; no day-of registration is available.
The event offers plenty of support along its challenging course, including friendly marshals guiding runners through clearly marked routes. Upon crossing the finish line, participants will receive a medal and a donut to celebrate their achievement, with tea, coffee, and other refreshments also on offer for purchase at the venue.
Remember to arrive early and be prepared for muddy conditions as there are no changing facilities available onsite. The event is designed for all abilities but comes with its own risks; runners must take full responsibility for their safety by dressing appropriately according to weather forecasts and ground conditions expected in January.
