The Rock Cobbler is an audacious challenge that has captivated cycling enthusiasts since its inception in 2013. Born from late-night brainstorming sessions by three friends who wanted to showcase the area’s diverse and rugged terrain, this ride quickly evolved into a legendary event known for pushing riders far beyond their comfort zones. Now in its fourteenth year, The Rock Cobbler continues to draw participants from around the globe with its unpredictable course and adventurous spirit. This edition offers three distinct routes: the full-length Cobbler (75-85 miles), the shorter Pebbler (40-50 miles), and the more ambitious Boulder route (up to 115 miles). Each option promises a unique blend of gravel, singletrack, technical challenges, steep climbs, rolling hills, rivers, creeks, and even cowboy bars. The elevation gain ranges from 3,000 to 8,700 feet across the routes, with the Boulder route scaling up to an impressive 12,000 feet. A highlight of the ride is its notorious hike-a-bike sections, where riders must carry their bikes over particularly challenging terrain. These segments are just one part of a multifaceted course that includes county roads and trails, each designed to test endurance and resilience. While there are no official categories or podiums, The Rock Cobbler awards the first male and female finishers on each route with extra special prizes. All participants receive a unique gift upon completion, adding an element of mystery and excitement to the event. The final routes for this year’s edition will be unveiled just before the ride begins, keeping everyone guessing until race day. Whether you're up for the full challenge or prefer something more manageable, The Rock Cobbler offers riders a memorable experience filled with camaraderie, adventure, and breathtaking scenery. Join us on February 5, 2027, to discover why this event is called "The Rock Cobbler" – an unforgettable journey that will leave you asking yourself if you were truly prepared for the ride ahead.
