Embark on an exhilarating adventure through the rugged terrain of South Wales with the Black Mountains MBO at Peterchurch, part of the 2027 series. This unique blend of mountain biking and orienteering welcomes cyclists from all ages and skill levels who are ready to explore off-road trails while navigating using OS maps.
Located in Bannau Brycheiniog (Brecon Beacons), Black Mountains, Wye Valley, and the Forest of Dean, this event offers a challenging yet rewarding experience for both competitive riders and families alike. Participants can choose between EBike or Analog MapRun courses, ensuring there's an option to suit every rider’s preference.
Upon arrival at registration from 09:30am to 10:15am, you’ll receive a fully marked waterproof OS map of the course area. The goal is simple yet thrilling—plan your route and visit as many checkpoints as possible within a three-hour time limit before returning to base. For those who don't have their own map board, boards can be borrowed on-site.
The event encourages family participation with its Generation Team option, making it an ideal outing for cyclists of all ages. Post-ride refreshments such as tea, coffee, warm sausage rolls, and cake will be available in the hall to refuel after your adventure.

To participate, make sure to have either the MapRun App installed on your Android or iPhone device, a Garmin Watch with the MapRunG App, or any GPS watch. The event ID will be provided via email one day before the ride and the PIN code at registration; it's crucial not to enter the PIN until you're ready to start.
