About the Event

BigWayRound, Winchester's premier trail running festival, returns on May 3rd, 2027, offering four challenging distances: 14 miles, 19 miles, marathon, and the grueling 50K ultramarathon. This event, renowned for its stunning views and friendly atmosphere, takes runners through England’s historic capital city of Winchester.
The journey begins at Winchester Rugby Club in the heart of town before venturing into undulating trails along the Itchen Navigation. The course features iconic landmarks such as St Catherine's Hill and Cheesefoot Head, followed by scenic paths like the South Downs Way and Allan King Way. Runners will enjoy quintessential English countryside alongside the picturesque River Itchen.
Registration opens at 7am with bib collection available until 7:50am, followed by a briefing for all participants at 7:55am. The race starts in waves based on pace to ensure an orderly departure from town and onto the trails. All runners must carry at least 500ml of fluid as part of mandatory kit requirements.
Upon completion, participants will be greeted with well-stocked aid stations along the route and a bespoke medal at the finish line. The event is known for its enthusiastic volunteers, energetic atmosphere, and on-course photography capturing every moment of your journey. Don't miss out on this unforgettable trail running experience in Winchester!
