BigHeat is all about embracing the element of Fire with four challenging trail runs designed to test your limits while offering stunning views and breathtaking scenery. The event features a variety of distances for runners of different levels: - Saturday: - Marathon (42km): A full marathon that winds through sun-baked forests, dusty tracks, and open sandy plains. - Ultramarathon (50km): An extra challenging option with even more rugged terrain to conquer. - Sunday: - Half-Marathon Equivalent (16 miles/25.7 km): This distance offers a taste of the longer runs without stretching your limits too far. - Shorter Distance Runners can enjoy the scenic and manageable 12km route, perfect for runners looking for a less demanding but still rewarding experience. For those with little ones in tow or younger participants, the LittleFeet Flower Trail fun run on Sunday morning offers a delightful 2km course through gorgeous wildflower meadows. The entry fee is just £10 and includes an award to celebrate their achievement. The event takes place at Mill Farm in Lurgashall, which serves as both the starting point for all races and your basecamp throughout the weekend. Here, you'll find a bustling festival atmosphere complete with live music, yoga sessions, camping facilities, showers, food stands, and firepits to relax around after each run. Camping is available on Friday evening through Sunday morning, providing an opportunity to fully immerse yourself in the event's vibrant community spirit. Camping tickets include access to shower and toilet facilities as well as entertainment like live music during Saturday night festivities. Registration for all distances will be held at the start/finish area with designated times listed above each race day. Mandatory kit includes carrying 500ml of fluid, appropriate clothing based on weather conditions, and downloading GPX files onto wearable devices or mobile phones to ensure you stay on course despite potential marking issues. Aid stations are well-stocked with snacks, water, flat coke, and Precision Fuel & Hydration products like PH1000 electrolyte drinks. Runners can also collect two PFH gels at registration for additional energy during their run.
