BEYOND DURHAM 55KM ULTRA & 25KM TRAIL RUN - EARLY BIRD PRICES!

Beyond Durham 2027 invites runners of all levels for an unforgettable adventure through the scenic landscapes around Durham on September 18, 2027. Participants can choose between two routes: the challenging 55km Ultra and the more accessible yet equally stunning 25km Trail run.
The event kicks off at The BandStand in Durham Riverside, where runners will be greeted by a vibrant atmosphere before setting out on their journey. Both distances feature fully signed trails with friendly marshals along the way to guide participants through the scenic route.
For those tackling the longer distance, the 55km Ultra offers an epic adventure that takes you from the heart of Durham City into rolling countryside and back again. The course includes a mix of city streets and picturesque rural paths, crossing over the River Wear multiple times before heading eastward on the C2C trail to Stanley and Chester-le-Street.
The shorter 25km Trail run provides an equally memorable experience as it ventures out from Durham along the Railway Line towards Langley Moor and Meadowfield. Runners will enjoy a peaceful woodland section through Croxdale Wood & Butterby Wood, finishing with a scenic stretch alongside the River Wear back into Durham City.
Both routes are well-supported with feed stations stocked with essential supplies to keep runners fueled throughout their journey. The 55km route features three major feeding points at approximately 10-mile intervals, while the 25km run has one key station around the halfway mark.
Runners must carry a backpack or vest equipped with water/fluids, food/gels, and a charged mobile phone for safety reasons. Emergency contacts should be saved on their devices along with race director numbers in case of any issues during the event.
Cut-off times are set to ensure everyone’s safety; 6:30 PM is the final time limit for both distances. Any participant not reaching the last feed station by 4 PM will need to stop running due to potential risks involved after dark hours.
Upon crossing the finish line, all participants can look forward to receiving an event medal and Beyond merchandise as well as a snack and drink to celebrate their achievement.
