Besotted at Bingley

Immerse yourself in the tranquil beauty of Yorkshire’s countryside as you run along the Leeds and Liverpool Canal, an idyllic setting for runners of all levels. This event offers six distinct distances ranging from 5 kilometers to a full marathon, making it accessible whether you’re looking to log your first race or chase personal bests.
The course follows the flat towpath with minimal elevation changes except for brief encounters with historic locks along the way. The terrain is well-maintained and easy on the feet, allowing runners to focus on their pace without worrying about challenging surfaces. Every three miles, you’ll find feed stations stocked with a variety of refreshments, ensuring that hydration and energy needs are met throughout your run.
The event’s organization includes comprehensive marshalling and clear signage along the route, making navigation straightforward even for those unfamiliar with the area. Upon crossing the finish line, all participants will receive a bespoke medal as well as additional treats to celebrate their achievement.
Registration takes place at Bradford and Bingley Rugby Club on Wagon Lane (BD16 1LT), where parking is available along with toilet facilities. From there, it’s just a short walk to the Fishermans Pub Garden, which serves as both the starting point and finish line for all races.
Start times vary depending on your chosen distance:
- The Marathon begins at 8:30am.
- Followed by the Half Marathon at 9:00am.
- Then comes the 10 Miler also kicking off at 8:30am alongside the 20 Miler and Ultra distances.
For those traveling by train, Bingley station is approximately a mile and a half away from the event hub. Car-sharing is encouraged to minimize traffic congestion in town.
In line with sustainability efforts, runners are urged to bring reusable cups or bottles for hydration stations. Additionally, while headphones can enhance your experience, they must not obstruct awareness of surroundings; bone-conducting earphones or single-ear pieces are recommended if needed.
All races are licensed under UKA rules by the Trail Running Association, ensuring a safe and regulated event environment. Detailed route maps and GPX files are available for download to assist with navigation on race day.
