Bank Holiday Madness May 2027

Step into the May Bank Holiday Madness Run, an inclusive and flexible running event designed to cater to all levels of runners and walkers alike. Held on a picturesque stretch along the River Thames, this 7-hour time challenge offers participants complete control over their distance goals.
The course is marked with clear signage, making navigation effortless for both seasoned athletes and beginners. Approximately 60% of the route follows well-maintained paths or tarmac surfaces, while the remaining portion includes grassy trails that may become muddy at certain times. Road shoes are suitable year-round, but trail-specific footwear can provide extra grip on softer terrain.
Participants have a range of start times to choose from between 7:30 AM and 3:30 PM, ensuring flexibility for all schedules. The minimum distance is set at 3km, with the option to complete multiple laps up to ultra distances such as half marathon (16.5 km), full marathon (42.2 km) or even an ultramarathon beyond that.
Upon finishing any distance of 3 kilometers or more, runners will receive a commemorative medal and can collect additional pins for achieving specific milestones like the Half-Marathon, Marathon, 50km, and Ultra distances. Vegan-friendly goody bags are also available at the finish line along with an extensive aid station offering various snacks and refreshments.
The event takes place in Staines, where participants have access to basic facilities including toilets near The Last Hop venue. Parking is conveniently located nearby on Bridge Street Car Park (TW18 4TP).
Whether you're aiming for personal bests or simply enjoying the scenic route alongside fellow runners, May Bank Holiday Madness Run promises a memorable and affordable day out with all UK Athletics regulations strictly adhered to.
