AREIA BRANCA UPDoWN (16 e 08 kMS)

On November 8, 2026, runners will gather at the Praça de Areia Branca in Macaé, Rio de Janeiro for an exhilarating road race. The morning start time is set for 7:00 AM as participants embark on either a challenging 16 km or a more accessible 8 km course through the city's streets.
The terrain of both routes features predominantly asphalt with significant inclines and declines, offering runners a mix of flat sections interspersed with moderate climbs and descents. This layout presents an engaging challenge for athletes seeking to test their endurance on varied elevation changes.
Competitors must provide a medical certificate issued within the last six months due to the race's intermediate difficulty level. The event promises exciting competition across gender categories, age groups, and even team rankings over three stages of the Macaé Trail Run series.
Medals will be awarded to all finishers, while top performers in both distances receive cash prizes and points towards overall standings. Age group awards are also available every nine years from 1st through 5th place for added recognition.
Runners should adhere strictly to course markings and instructions provided by the organizers throughout the race day experience. The atmosphere is expected to be spirited, with local supporters cheering on participants as they navigate the scenic urban landscape of Macaé.
