Angry Tortoise 25K/50K

Celebrate the 14th Anniversary of The Angry Tortoise Trail Run, an unforgettable journey through Cary State Forest near Jacksonville. This scenic race offers runners two distances: a challenging yet manageable 25k and a more ambitious 50k option. Both courses wind along flat forest roads, providing ample opportunity to explore the serene beauty of Florida's natural landscapes.
Aid stations are strategically placed throughout both routes, ensuring that participants have easy access to water, snacks, and other essentials while they enjoy the gentle terrain at their own pace. The eight-hour cut-off time for each distance allows runners to savor every moment outdoors without feeling rushed or pressured by strict deadlines.
Post-race festivities include a complimentary lunch where you can refuel with delicious food after your run. Additionally, participants will receive commemorative race shirts and finisher awards upon crossing the line. Awards are given to top male and female overall winners in both races as well as first-place masters (ages 40-49) and grandmasters (50-69) categories for each distance.
For those looking to unwind after their efforts, Cary State Forest offers complimentary hot showers located near the start/finish area. Simply visit the designated restrooms with free shower facilities to refresh yourself post-race.
Registration opens on a first-come-first-served basis and early sign-ups are encouraged as race shirts may not be available in your size if you register after February 1, 2026 at noon. However, extra sizes will still be ordered to accommodate last-minute registrants where possible.
Supporting local youth fitness initiatives is another highlight of this event; proceeds from The Angry Tortoise Trail Run go directly towards funding the Florida Striders Kids' Running Programs.
