The race offers a perfect blend of challenging terrain and scenic beauty. Scheduled to take place on July 3rd, 2027, this edition promises warm weather conditions with the water temperature in Lake Pleschinger typically hovering around 23°C. This makes it an ideal setting for triathletes looking to kickstart their season under pleasant summer conditions. The Aloha Triathlon caters to athletes of all levels and experience ranges, offering three main race distances: - Middle Distance: A challenging course featuring a swim in Lake Pleschinger (1.9 km), followed by an 88-kilometer bike ride through the picturesque countryside around Linz, culminating with a half-marathon run along the popular Danube embankment.
- Olympic Distance: For those seeking a more manageable yet still demanding race experience, this distance includes a swim of 1.5 km in Lake Pleschinger, followed by a 40-kilometer bike ride and finishing with a 10-kilometer run along the Danube embankment. - Sprint Distance: Ideal for beginners or those looking to test their limits over shorter distances, this race features a swim of 750 meters in Lake Pleschinger, followed by a 25-kilometer bike ride and concluding with a 5-kilometer run along the Danube embankment. In addition to individual races, there are also relay options available for teams looking to compete together. These include middle distance, short distance, and sprint distances, making it perfect for family groups or triathlon newcomers eager to experience their first race in a supportive team environment. The swimming segment takes place in the relatively calm waters of Lake Pleschinger where wetsuits are generally permitted depending on water temperature conditions. The bike route winds through the rolling countryside surrounding Linz, providing athletes with both flat stretches and gradual climbs that offer scenic views throughout the ride. Finally, runners will enjoy a 5-kilometer loop along the Danube embankment, offering spectators excellent visibility of participants as they make their way to the finish line. Beyond the race itself, competitors can look forward to comprehensive support services including free photo opportunities at key points on the course and medical assistance throughout. The event is also known for its vibrant atmosphere with family-friendly activities and a lively community spirit that extends beyond just the athletes themselves. Whether you're an experienced triathlete looking to kickstart your season or someone new to the sport eager to take part in a supportive environment, the Aloha Triathlon offers something unique – combining challenging distances with beautiful scenery and top-notch organizational support.
