75th Kohyusyo Saishbo City Road Race (第75回小柳賞佐世保シティロードレース)

The Early Spring Run, held annually on January 10th since its inception, is a tribute to the late Etsuko Kosugi, a pioneering long-distance runner from Sasebo City who made significant contributions to Japanese athletics. This festive road race welcomes runners of all ages and abilities for an enjoyable day in celebration of health and community spirit.
Participants can choose between various categories including the main competitive races or opt for less formal options like the Health Run (3km), where costumes are encouraged, adding a unique twist to the event's atmosphere. The family-friendly environment also features specific divisions designed for younger competitors with reduced entry fees compared to adult rates.
With scenic routes through Sasebo City and its surrounding areas, runners can enjoy picturesque views of local landmarks while engaging in this invigorating start to the New Year running season. Whether you're a seasoned athlete or just looking for an uplifting way to kick off your year, the Early Spring Run offers something memorable for everyone involved.
The event is known not only for its competitive spirit but also for fostering a sense of community and camaraderie among participants from across Japan and beyond.
