5th Annual Lexington Turkey Trot

On November 14, 2026, the Lexington community comes alive for the fifth edition of the Lexington Turkey Trot. This annual tradition invites runners and walkers alike to participate in either a scenic 5K run or a leisurely 2-mile walk through the charming streets of Lexington.
The event kicks off early on race day with registration and packet pickup starting at Mom & Dad's Icehouse, located at 529 Third Street from 7:00am to 8:15am. Participants can enjoy the pre-race buzz as they finalize their preparations for the morning’s activities. The main event begins promptly at 8:30 am.
The 5K course offers runners a mix of paved and dirt paths, winding through picturesque neighborhoods and historic landmarks that showcase Lexington's unique character. For those preferring to take in the sights at a more relaxed pace, the 2-mile walk provides an opportunity for families and friends to stroll together while enjoying the festive atmosphere.
Registration fees are $30 until October 31st; after this date, late registration will cost $35 but does not guarantee a race t-shirt. Participants who register early can look forward to receiving their custom-designed shirts along with their race packets during pre-race pickup days or on event day morning.
Awards ceremonies highlight the achievements of both runners and walkers. In the 5K run, overall male and female winners will receive frozen turkeys and pies as top prizes, while age group awards are given out for the categories: 13-20, 21-30, 31-40, 41-50, 51-60, and 61+. Additionally, medals will be presented to the first male and female finishers in the 2-mile walk.
