About the Event

The NAHA Marathon has grown into one of Japan's leading mass-participation events. It began in 1985 as a festival of sun, sea and joggers to mark 25 years of the sister-city link between Naha and Honolulu, and the runners' circle of friendship has widened every year since. This is the 40th edition.
The 42.195 km course runs through five municipalities in southern Okinawa, centered on the Peace Memorial Park: Naha, Haebaru, Yaese, Itoman and Tomigusuku. Full marathon entries are split into general, age 65 and over, and high school students aged 18 or under.
