On December 13, 2026, the scenic city of Canoinhas, Santa Catarina, will host the 2nd Half Marathon of Canoinhas. This road race offers runners two exciting distances: a half marathon (21 km) and a shorter 5 km option. Participants can expect to experience breathtaking natural landscapes as well as historical landmarks along the route. The event starts at 6 AM from Estação Ferroviária de Marcílio Dias, setting off early in the morning for an invigorating run through Canoinhas' charming streets. The race is organized by Nikki Sports and receives support from local institutions such as the Municipal Foundation of Sports, Cultural Foundation, Tourism Foundation, and the 3rd Police Battalion (SC). With limited spots available—only 450 participants—the event promises a personalized experience for each runner. Categories include general rankings and age groups to cater to diverse athletic backgrounds. Early bird registration opens on September 1, 2026, and closes either by December 6 or when all slots are filled. Runners can enjoy discounts if they qualify as seniors (aged 60+) or individuals with disabilities (PCD), while a guide runner for PCD participants is exempt from the entry fee. The Maratoninha Kids event offers a fun run option at R$50, providing an engaging experience for younger athletes. Kit collection will take place on December 10-12 at Brazuca Esportes in Canoinhas, with specific hours provided to ensure smooth logistics before race day. Runners must present their official identification and proof of registration upon pickup, while third-party collectors need additional authorization documents from the registered participant. The half marathon course features strategic hydration stations every 2.5 km starting at the 2-km mark, ensuring runners stay hydrated throughout their run. This event not only celebrates athletic achievement but also promotes community engagement through optional donations to local charitable organizations in Canoinhas.
