On February 14, 2027, the city of Hamamatsu will come alive with the Love Running Festival, an engaging race series that invites runners and their families to explore the scenic beauty and vibrant atmosphere of this historic Japanese town. The event features a half marathon course starting at Hamamatsu Castle and winding through the bustling heart of the city, including landmarks such as Zaza City and Hamamatsu Station.
Participants in the half marathon will experience an exhilarating 21.0975-kilometer run that showcases both urban landscapes and natural beauty spots around the castle grounds. The race route is designed to highlight key attractions while providing a challenging yet enjoyable course for runners of all abilities.
In addition to the main event, there are also two shorter races: a 5km run suitable for recreational athletes looking for a less strenuous option, and a family-friendly 1.5km fun run that caters specifically to young participants with an entry fee tailored for solo children as well as families who wish to participate together.
The Love Running Festival aims to foster community spirit by engaging residents of all ages in this annual celebration of health, fitness, and camaraderie. With its diverse range of distances and inclusive pricing—such as reduced fees for middle school students and family discounts—the event welcomes participants from various backgrounds and age groups.
Registration fees are set at 7,500 yen for the half marathon, 4,000 yen (2,500 yen for high school and junior high school students) for the 5km race, and a special rate of 2,000 yen per child in the solo category or 4,500 yen for families with additional participants charged at 1,000 yen each from the third member onwards.
