The Reesor 50 Ultraranch Festival is an exhilarating weekend of trail running, camping, and celebration at the Historic Reesor Ranch nestled within Saskatchewan's breathtaking Cypress Hills. The festival offers runners a chance to explore diverse terrains ranging from rolling grasslands to winding trails beneath towering cliffs. Friday, May 21, 2027 The evening kicks off with two short races: the Sundown 5 and the Sundown 10. Both courses wind through the ranch property, offering runners a taste of what’s in store for the rest of the weekend. The Sundown 5 is a 5 km course that showcases the beauty of Reesor Ranch at dusk. Participants will enjoy a Friday night lasagna dinner, one beverage, and a custom Buff brand buff as part of their registration. The Sundown 10 extends to 10 kilometers with more challenging climbs and stunning views across the ranch lands. The evening concludes with a hearty lasagna dinner for all participants, along with beverages and the surprise custom Buff brand buff. Saturday, May 22, 2027 On Saturday morning, runners will gather early at Historic Reesor Ranch to start two major races: the Reesor 50 and the Reesor Mountain Marathon. The Reesor 50 is an epic 83 km ultramarathon with over 2,300 meters of elevation gain and loss. Aid stations are strategically placed throughout the course, ensuring runners have access to essential supplies along their challenging journey. The Reesor Mountain Marathon covers a distance of 42 kilometers with approximately 1,250 meters of vertical ascent and descent. This race features three fully stocked aid stations as well as finish-line support. Both races offer cash prizes for top male and female finishers provided by Prairie Sky Running Company and the Historic Reesor Ranch. In addition to these main events, a new offering this year is the Reesor 10—a 10 km open race that doubles as a provincial junior qualifier. Runners can look forward to the same scenic course used for the Sundown 10 but in daylight conditions on Saturday afternoon. All participants of the longer races are treated to a hearty steak dinner and breakfast meals, enhancing their overall experience with delicious food options like lasagna dinners, steaks, pancakes, bacon, scrambled eggs, fruit, juice or coffee. Additional meal tickets can be purchased during registration for friends and family attending the event as spectators. The Reesor 50 Ultraranch Festival is more than just a race; it's an immersive experience that combines nature’s beauty with competitive running challenges. Whether you're camping on-site at designated areas within the ranch or staying in nearby accommodations, this festival offers something memorable for every runner and their loved ones alike. Accommodations include options to stay directly at the Historic Reesor Ranch in private cabins or B&Bs starting from October 15, 2026. Festival-style camping is also available within designated areas with bathroom facilities included. For those unable to attend this year’s event due to unforeseen circumstances, distance changes are permitted until May 1, 2027; however, no waitlists will be maintained for sold-out distances. Join us at the Reesor Ranch and immerse yourself in a weekend of camaraderie, breathtaking landscapes, challenging courses, and unforgettable memories.
