2026 HUG RUN

The HUG RUN, scheduled for Saturday, December 5, 2026, at Peace Plaza within Peace Park near the Sangam World Cup Stadium, is an inspiring charity run dedicated to supporting children affected by abuse, abandonment, neglect, and other crisis situations. All entry fees are donated directly to fund professional counseling services, medical care, educational support, and enhancements for child protection facilities.
Participants can choose between a 5 km or 10 km route, with registration opening on October 6, 2026, at 2:00 PM (KST) through the Leisureddy mobile app. Entry fees are KRW 50,000 and KRW 60,000 for the shorter and longer distances respectively, and the event has a capacity of up to 3,000 runners.
The race day begins at 7:00 AM with experience booths offering various activities until 11:00 AM. The opening ceremony takes place from 7:30-8:00 AM, followed by the start of races at exactly 8:00 AM for both distances. Participants can expect a well-paced event that concludes around 10:00 AM with prizes being drawn and closing remarks given between 10:00-11:00 AM.
Each runner will receive a medal, race bib, T-shirt, skincare set, sunscreen, drip coffee and tea bags, as well as a drawstring bag. Shipping of these items begins approximately two weeks before the event date to ensure they arrive in time for participants.
Event organizers provide changing rooms and baggage storage facilities at Peace Plaza to enhance convenience on race day. Public transportation is highly recommended due to limited parking availability; runners should use Exit 8 of Mapo-gu Office Station on Subway Line 6 to reach the venue easily.
This non-competitive event welcomes all ages, with a policy that children under 14 must participate as part of a group and require guardian consent. Cancellation requests for refunds are accepted until Sunday, November 8, 2026.
The HUG RUN is organized by Eastern Social Welfare Society in partnership with the Seoul Metropolitan Government to raise awareness and funds crucial for improving the lives of vulnerable children through comprehensive support services.
