2026 Huangshan International Mountaineering Challenge and 22nd China Huangshan International Mountaineering Conference (2026年黄山国际登山挑战赛暨第二十二届中国黄山国际登山大会)

Climb to the summit of Huangshan and meet at its peak! The 2026 International Mountaineering Challenge and the 22nd China Huangshan International Climbing Conference is set for Sunday, November 8th, starting at 8:30 AM from the North Gate Plaza in Huangshan Scenic Area. With a total of 4,000 participants, this event features three distinct categories designed to cater to various levels of experience and endurance.
The Bright Summit Speed Race (15.2 km) welcomes 500 competitors with an exhilarating course that combines approximately 6.6 kilometers of winding mountain roads with 8.6 kilometers of challenging hiking trails. The route starts at the North Gate Plaza, leading up to the summit of Mount Huang via a series of steep ascents and descents totaling 1730 meters in elevation gain and 225 meters in loss over a course that is expected to take around five and a half hours for completion.
The West Sea Speed Race (13.3 km) attracts 2,500 participants with its scenic route of about 6.6 kilometers on mountain roads followed by 6.7 kilometers through the picturesque hiking trails leading up to the summit. This race begins at the North Gate Plaza and concludes in front of the West Sea Hotel Square, offering a total elevation gain of 1457 meters and loss of 198 meters within its five-hour time limit.
For those seeking a more relaxed experience, the Songgu Fitness Race (8.3 km) offers a family-friendly route for both individuals and parent-child teams totaling 200 people across 100 pairs. This course covers approximately 6.6 kilometers of mountain roads followed by 1.7 kilometers along scenic hiking trails, ending at太平索道下站 with an elevation gain of 383 meters and a loss of 83 meters within the three-and-a-half-hour time frame.
Each route promises breathtaking views and challenging terrain that showcase Huangshan's unique beauty while providing opportunities for both competitive racing and leisurely exploration. The event is open for registration from September 1st to October 15th at 4:00 PM, with slots allocated on a first-come-first-served basis until full capacity is reached.
