III TRAIL DEL COCIDO VILLAREÑO

The Tierras del Tajuña Trail Series is an exhilarating trail running circuit that brings together six unique races across diverse municipalities in southeastern Madrid. Nestled within the natural beauty of the Vegas del Tajuña and Alcarria Madrileña regions, this series unites sport with nature, tourism, and rural development under a common sporting identity.
Each race maintains its own character while adhering to a unified set of rules, classification criteria, and promotional efforts. The events traverse historical paths, natural trails, olive groves, meadows, and culturally significant landscapes, offering runners an immersive experience through varied terrains and picturesque settings.
The series kicks off with the VII Churrigueresca de Nuevo Baztán in August, a nocturnal race that combines sport with history as participants navigate moonlit paths and historical sites. Following this is the I Trail de la Picota de las Torres in September, where runners explore scenic trails around Pezuela de las Torres.
The III Trail del Huevo Rodado de Carabaña in October presents a fast-paced route through forest tracks and caves known for their unique geological features. In January, the III Trail del Cocido Villareño of Villar del Olmo blends tradition with sport as runners traverse rural paths and woodland areas rich in local heritage.
The series continues into spring with two more races: Caracca en Perales de Tajuña in February and the III Trail del Capellán de Valdilecha in April. Each event features challenging yet rewarding courses that highlight the distinct natural beauty of each location, from forested trails to hillside paths.
The series concludes with a final race held on an unspecified municipality’s selected local terrain, determining the overall circuit champion while fostering community engagement and camaraderie among runners and residents alike.
With distances ranging between 10-16 kilometers for competitive trail running categories and more leisurely options for hiking enthusiasts, Tierras del Tajuña Trail Series offers something for all levels of participants.
