Darrel Chapman Fun Run

The Darrell Chapman Fun Run returns to Lismore, New South Wales on 30th August 2026. This event has been a staple in the local community for over three decades, raising funds for 'Our Kids', a charity dedicated to purchasing lifesaving equipment for our local hospitals.
Race morning finds participants gathering at Woodlark Street Park, which offers a welcoming and vibrant atmosphere. The park is nestled within Lismore's central neighbourhoods, surrounded by lush greenery that transforms into a lively backdrop on race day. With the NAB and Lord’s Taverners supporting 'Our Kids', this event not only entertains but also supports local causes.
This year marks its 31st edition, with thousands of participants expected to run or walk in various distances. The event offers something for everyone: from the family-friendly 4km walk/run to the challenging 21km marathon and virtual options for those unable to join on race day.
The course venue is a firm and slightly soft trail that stretches through Lismore's scenic parks, ensuring an engaging experience for all participants. The start at Woodlark Street sees runners and walkers head out towards the heart of town before completing their journey back in the park. Notable features include the 10km run which starts early with a staggered timing system to accommodate different paces.
Weather conditions on race day are expected to be warm, with an UV index rating of Very High at 8.4. Temperatures will range from comfortable morning coolness into the mid-20s Celsius by noon, prompting participants to wear lightweight and breathable clothing. A slight risk of rain exists in the afternoon, so runners should come prepared.
