2027 Frostbite 5K & 10K

Step into the heart of winter wonderland as Green River transforms Expedition Island into an enchanting setting for the Frostbite 5K, 10K, and Family Fun Run. On February 20, 2027, runners will gather at this historic site to embark on a scenic journey through snow-dusted paths and frosty landscapes.
The race begins from the north side of Expedition Island's bridge, where participants will cross into a winter paradise lined with towering trees and sparkling ice formations. The course weaves along the Greenbelt Pathway system, offering glimpses of Riverside Memorial Park’s serene beauty as runners pass by the horse corrals that echo with the spirit of adventure.
For those tackling the 10K distance, the route ventures further into Edgewater Park before looping back to Expedition Island for a grand finish. The course map reveals intricate details such as navigating through Stratton Meyers Park and circling around the Union Pacific loop, providing runners with diverse terrain and stunning vistas along the Green River.
Participants can expect an atmosphere filled with warmth and community spirit at the Pavilion, which will be open throughout the event to offer refuge from chilly temperatures. Families are encouraged to join in on the festivities, though strollers are welcome while pets must remain at home for this year’s race.
Medals await top finishers across various age categories as well as overall awards for both male and female participants in each distance. Race packets can be picked up ahead of time on February 19th from 4-6:30 pm, giving runners the chance to secure their entry into a special prize draw at packet pickup.
Join us this winter for an unforgettable run through Green River’s frosty beauty and embrace the adventure that awaits along the Frostbite course.
