Thanksgiving Day is set to shine brighter than ever as the Fifth Annual Turkey Trot returns, offering runners of all ages an opportunity to give back while enjoying a festive morning. This year’s race will take place on Thursday, November 26th, with events in both Rawlins and Saratoga, designed to support Ribbons of Hope—a local charity aiding Carbon County residents battling cancer. In Rawlins, the day kicks off at 8:45 am with the Lil Turkeys Sprint for children aged four and up. Little ones can walk, skip, crawl or run their way through a 200-meter dash on the track at Rawlins High School. This is followed by the Survivor Lap, an inspiring moment where those who have fought cancer are invited to take a lap around the track as a tribute to their resilience. At 9:00 am sharp, the main event—the 5k fun run/walk—begins on the same scenic high school grounds. Participants will enjoy running through familiar streets and local parks while taking in the vibrant autumn scenery. Registration for this event opens at Rawlins High School starting from 7:30 am. Meanwhile, Saratoga’s Turkey Trot promises a serene morning by the Riviera Motor Lodge. The day starts with an honoring ceremony at 8:45 am where all cancer survivors and their supporters are invited to share in recognition of those who have battled this disease. At precisely 9:00 am, runners will set off on a scenic route through Saratoga’s charming neighborhoods. Both events conclude with warm community gatherings. In Rawlins, participants can look forward to mingling at the finish line and receiving their custom Turkey Trot medals and t-shirts (with guaranteed sizes if registered by November 1st). The Riviera Motor Lodge in Saratoga offers a cozy fire-pit area where runners will be greeted with hot beverages for a shared moment of reflection. Whether you're joining us in person or from afar through the virtual option, your participation helps make Ribbons of Hope’s mission to assist cancer patients across Carbon County possible. So gather your loved ones and lace up your running shoes; let's make this year’s Turkey Trot another memorable success! Registration for both events is now open at [event website], with packet pickup available starting from 7:30 am in Rawlins and 8:00 am in Saratoga. Join us as we celebrate the spirit of giving back on Thanksgiving Day!
