About the Event

Join us for the 20th edition of the Zwarte Dennen Cross, an exciting cross-country race nestled within the serene Staphorst State Forest. This year’s event features three distinct distances: a challenging 1250 meters, a scenic 5 km run, and a longer 10 km course.
The Zwarte Dennen Cross is part of the prestigious Vechtdal Cross Competition, which offers participants an opportunity to compete in multiple races throughout the season. To enter this competition series, you'll need to register through a separate link provided by the organizers.
Race day will see runners navigating varied terrain within the lush greenery of Staphorst State Forest. The courses are designed to challenge athletes with both flat and hilly sections, offering breathtaking views along the way. Participants can expect an engaging experience that combines physical exertion with natural beauty.
Registration for this event includes your agreement to certain conditions:
- You confirm you have adequate mental and physical health to participate.
- Participation is at your own risk.
- Personal information provided must be accurate and truthful.
- By registering, you give permission for photographs or video taken during the race to be used by organizers.
In case of unforeseen circumstances preventing participation, registrations can either be transferred or cancelled. Cancellations are accepted up until one week before the event but will incur an administrative fee of €1.50.
The forest management team is dedicated to preserving this natural area for future enjoyment and recreation. To support these efforts, a small contribution from each participant's entry fees goes towards maintaining the beauty and integrity of Staphorst State Forest.
Online pre-registration remains open until November 21, 2026, up to twenty minutes before race start time. Be sure to fill out all required fields marked with an asterisk during registration.
Mark your calendars for this unforgettable event that promises a day filled with competition and camaraderie amidst the stunning backdrop of Staphorst State Forest.
