Zuia Duatloia 27 / Duatlón Zuia 27

The Duathlon Media Distance of Zuia takes place on April 17, 2027, offering athletes an exhilarating challenge within the picturesque setting of Murgia, located in Alava's Parque Natural del Gorbea. This event features a demanding course with distances including a 15-kilometer run, followed by a challenging 66-kilometer bike ride that climbs over 1000 meters in elevation, and concludes with another grueling 7-kilometer run.
The cycling route is particularly noteworthy for its single lap design, which includes several steep ascents and two significant climbs each stretching about 1.5 kilometers long. Cyclists must adhere to strict time limits, passing the 21-kilometer mark by 14:27 and completing half of the total distance at the bridge over the autovía before 15:30.
The run segments are mostly flat but include key hydration stations where participants can refuel with energy drinks and gels. The overall atmosphere is electric, supported by a range of amenities including updated changing rooms and showers just 150 meters from the start/finish line at Polideportivo Palatu. Post-race services such as physiotherapy and bike repair are also available to help athletes recover.
Beyond the physical challenge, Zuia offers a vibrant community experience with a post-event dinner for participants and volunteers starting around 8 PM in Murgia. The evening continues with live music and DJ sets, providing an opportunity for everyone to unwind after their efforts on the course.
Registration details are available online from October 31 at 6:30 PM until November 2, offering early bird discounts that decrease as time progresses. Participants must ensure they have a valid federation license or purchase a day license if not already registered, with no refunds for cancellations made after March 2 unless medically justified.
For those looking to experience the thrill of this unique and scenic duathlon in one of Spain's most beautiful natural settings, Zuia promises an unforgettable race weekend.
