OMG - One Mile 2 Go returns to Bawsey Country Park for its second year, offering runners of all levels an opportunity to challenge themselves on the picturesque trails. Situated along the B1145 between the Queen Elizabeth Hospital and Gayton, this event caters to a wide range of distances including 5k, 10k, Half Marathon, Full Marathon, and Ultra Marathon. The race is designed for both newcomers looking to complete their first official distance run as well as seasoned athletes aiming to notch up another milestone in their running journey. The six-hour cut-off time ensures that participants have ample time to finish regardless of the chosen distance, with a four-hour limit for those starting at 11am. Bawsey Country Park offers an inviting setting with its mix of sand, gravel, and grass paths, providing runners with varied terrain underfoot. Road trainers are recommended but trail shoes may be necessary depending on weather conditions leading up to race day. The event is equipped with aid stations every lap where participants can refill their water bottles or cups; please bring your own containers as the race has gone cupless. Upon arrival at Bawsey Country Park, runners will find easy access from the car park directly to registration and bib collection. Participants are advised to leave belongings in vehicles since no baggage storage is provided near the start line. Each lap around the course passes by the parking area, allowing runners a brief respite to check on their gear if needed. Race day excitement builds as all participants gather at the mass start under the guidance of race officials who will provide instructions and ensure everyone begins together.
