About the Event

Experience the joy this holiday season at the 13th annual Waxahachie Family YMCA Santa Run on December 12, 2026. Kick off your festive spirit with a run or walk through the charming Railyard Park, located near downtown Waxahachie. This family-friendly event offers two options: a 5k run/walk and a 1-mile fun run, perfect for participants of all ages.
What sets this race apart is the unique opportunity to don a full Santa Suit as you make your way through the park. These festive outfits are included in the registration fee and can be kept by runners after the event—making it an unforgettable keepsake. Decorate your suit, or even bring along your stroller or pet for added holiday cheer!
The race route winds through the picturesque Railyard Park, offering a scenic backdrop of festive lights and decorations that will put you in the Christmas spirit from start to finish. Whether you're racing with friends or simply enjoying the fun run as part of family festivities, this event promises an experience filled with joy and excitement.
Proceeds from the race support the construction of Cindy Hess Memorial Park, which is set to be built directly behind the YMCA. This park will offer a variety of activities for community members to enjoy throughout the year. Your participation and donations help bring this vision to life, ensuring that future generations can experience the joy of outdoor recreation.
Special pricing is available for youth 12 years old and under, with custom sizes offered to accommodate all participants. Show your Christmas spirit by decorating your outfit or bringing along a festive pet—prizes will be awarded to those who display the most holiday cheer!
Join us on December 12th at 9am as we celebrate the season in style. Your support not only contributes to this memorable event but also helps create lasting community spaces for years to come.
