About the Event

The YMCA Northumberland's Rainbow Run returns to Cobourg, Ontario on June 7th. This event combines the thrill of a community gathering with the spirit of Pride Month, all while raising funds for the YMCA Strong Communities Campaign and Northumberland Pride.
Starting from the Cobourg Yacht Club at 10:15 am (with check-in opening at 9:30 am), this race offers participants the chance to spread love, acceptance, well-being, and rainbow magic. The route takes runners through a firm yet slightly soft terrain that ensures an engaging journey for all ages. Participants can choose between running or walking either a 2K distance (for kids aged four and under) or a full 5K course. This year introduces the Bubble Dash for children up to age three, where they will chase Pickles the Unicorn through a short course surrounded by iridescent bubbles.
The setting on race morning is vibrant with participants encouraged to dress in their most vivid outfits. The Cobourg Yacht Club serves as both the starting and finish line, providing a welcoming atmosphere that fosters inclusivity. Over 250 registered runners will receive tie-dye finisher medals upon crossing the rainbow finish line.
The event supports multiple distances: the Bubble Dash for children aged four and under (free), Rainbow Run/Walk 2.5K for ages five to fourteen ($12.99), and a full 5K race for adults or those fifteen years old and above ($28.99). For kids from zero to four, participation is free.
