YANA'BUS CHALLENGE

About the Event

The YANA'BUS CHALLENGE, set to take place on October 18, 2026, marks the grand finale of a week-long celebration dedicated to the launch of Guyana's revolutionary public transportation system, YANÉO. This event offers runners and walkers an exclusive opportunity to explore the newly constructed transport corridors before their official opening.
Participants can choose from four distinct races: a solo or team 12km run (for intermediate athletes), a more relaxed 6km walk/run option for beginners and intermediates, a challenging semi-marathon of 21km aimed at seasoned runners, and a specially adapted 6km course designed for individuals with reduced mobility. Each race begins and ends on Rue Fiedmont in Cayenne, offering scenic routes that highlight the city's vibrant neighborhoods.
The 12km and solo events trace the path through key landmarks including Boulevard Mandela and Avenue Justin Catayée before traversing the bustling urban landscape along the TCSP (Transport en Site Propre) network. The semi-marathon extends further to include a loop around Mont-Lucas, showcasing additional segments of this innovative infrastructure.
This unique event not only celebrates Guyana's commitment to sustainable transportation but also provides athletes with an unforgettable race experience amidst the cultural and festive atmosphere of Cayenne during its inaugural week.
