The traditional San Silvestre de Getafe race, which has been running since 1981 (with the exception of one snowy year), returns on December 31, 2026 for its 44th edition. Organized by Peña PCEros in collaboration with the City Council of Getafe and supported by local entities such as Civil Protection Getafe, Local Police Getafe, regional houses, and other peñas from Getafe. The race begins at 11:00 AM on Avenida Juan de Borbón (Polideportivo Juan de la Cierva) and concludes back at the Polideportivo Juan de la Cierva. Participants will experience a festive atmosphere as they run through the streets of Getafe, passing landmarks that highlight the city's rich cultural heritage. The race course offers runners a mix of urban terrain with paved roads leading to scenic views around the sports complex. The event is not just about racing; it’s an opportunity for participants and spectators alike to celebrate the end of the year in style. With safety measures provided by local authorities, this race ensures that all who participate can enjoy the run without worry. The 44th edition promises to be a memorable one with its blend of tradition, community spirit, and athletic competition set against the backdrop of Getafe's vibrant culture. Runners are invited to join in what has become an annual celebration for runners and residents alike. Join us on December 31, 2026 as we mark another year by running through the heart of Getafe.
