Winwick Hall Trail Races

Experience the thrill of trail running on the picturesque Winwick Hall Estate, located near Northamptonshire. The race offers three distances to choose from: a challenging 10k route and an accessible 5k course for runners looking to explore trails without the added distance, as well as a fun-filled 2k event tailored specifically for children aged 4-12.
The races take place on July 18, 2027, starting at Winwick Hall. Participants will navigate through varied terrain that includes grassland and country paths with sections of hard-packed trails. Both the 5k and 10k routes feature rewarding hills and swift descents, making for an engaging and scenic run.
The event is organized by Race Harborough in aid of the Bruce Green Foundation, a charity dedicated to providing young people under 21 from Northamptonshire with inclusive access to cultural experiences that promote education, personal growth, and community involvement. A portion of all entry fees goes directly to this worthy cause.
Registration opens at Winwick Hall on race day at 08:00 for participants to collect their numbers and timing chips. The races begin promptly at 9:30am with the children's event starting later in the morning at 11:15am, ensuring that all runners have ample time to enjoy the surroundings.
On-course support includes professional first aid personnel stationed at both the start and finish lines as well as volunteers along the route. A water station is available on the 10k course halfway through for hydration needs.
Trail shoes are recommended if there has been recent rain, but road running shoes will suffice in dry conditions. The event adheres to a cupless policy; runners should bring their own reusable cups or bottles for hydration stations along the route and at the finish line.
All participants who cross the finish line receive a specially crafted race medal as recognition of their achievement. Spectators are welcome, with ample parking available near Winwick Hall. The Polo Pavilion Tea Room will be open to provide refreshments including hot drinks and homemade snacks throughout the day.
