Wildrun: The Namibia Crossing 2028 offers an unparalleled adventure through the ancient arid landscapes of southern Africa. Spanning five days over 200 kilometers, this challenging foot race begins at Sendelingsdrif on South Africa’s border and ventures into the rugged terrain of the /Ai/Ais-Richtersveld Transfrontier Park in Namibia.
The route takes runners through crystal-clear fields and along the banks of the Orange River, before scaling Tatasberg's colossal boulders. The journey continues deep into the Fish River Canyon, a vast wilderness where nature reigns supreme.
Participants will experience an array of terrains—from sandy plains to rocky outcrops—immersing themselves in the stark beauty of this arid region. Each day presents unique challenges and breathtaking vistas that test both physical endurance and mental fortitude.
Accommodations are provided for four nights at a campsite within the park, complete with single tents equipped with mattresses. The race organizers also offer bus transfers from Cape Town International Airport to Sendelingsdrif on June 4th, returning runners back to the airport after crossing into Namibia by June 10th.
Runners are advised to bring their own sleeping bags and sufficient supplies of food and water for the duration of the event. A valid passport with any necessary visas is essential due to the international border crossing involved in this extraordinary race.
