About the Event

Whixley Village Hall Committee is proud to present The Whixley 5k & 10k, an annual running event set against the backdrop of picturesque rural England. Scheduled for Sunday, October 25th, 2026, this race offers runners two exciting options: a scenic 5K loop and a more challenging 10K course.
The day kicks off at 10:00 am with the start of the shorter distance event. Participants will enjoy a route that showcases Whixley's charming countryside, winding through quiet lanes lined with golden autumn leaves. The race is designed to cater to runners of all levels, from seasoned athletes looking for a quick pace to casual joggers seeking a leisurely run.
For those who prefer a longer challenge, the 10K event begins at 11:00 am. This extended course features additional miles that take runners on a loop around Whixley's rolling hills and farmland, offering breathtaking views of the rural landscape throughout the cooler autumn morning.
Both races are family-friendly events with plenty of support along the way from enthusiastic volunteers who cheer on participants as they navigate through the scenic countryside.
The event concludes with presentations for both distances immediately after their respective finishes, celebrating all runners' achievements and providing a sense of community among participants and spectators alike.
