Kickstart your cycling year with a classic challenge at the Westerley Winter Warmer on Sunday, January 11, 2026, the renowned reliability ride that has sold out for nine consecutive years. This is the ultimate winter fitness test on the quiet, picturesque lanes of the Chiltern Hills, offering three meticulously crafted distances: a formidable 105km with 1200m of climbing, a 60km medium route, and a 44km short option, each showcasing the area's famous ascents like Frith Hill and Bledlow Ridge. More than just a ride, it's a community tradition organized by Westerley CC, where riders are set off in timed intervals to foster a safe, social atmosphere rather than a race, all within a target speed range that welcomes club cyclists of varying abilities. The event epitomizes the best of British club cycling, with a warm scout hut HQ providing pre-ride coffee and post-ride hot food, creating a hub of camaraderie before and after the miles. With free entry for members and its legendary reputation for scenic yet demanding routes, securing a spot early is essential for this coveted January fixture. Wrap up, clip in, and join the fellowship for a crisp winter's day of base miles, breathtaking views, and shared effort that truly earns the name 'Winter Warmer'.
