The 31st HARDWICK X-STREAM SUNDAY 18 October 2026 @ 10am Join us for the exhilarating return of the Hardwick X-Stream, set to take place on Sunday, October 18th, 2026. This event marks a special milestone as we celebrate our 31st year in this picturesque corner of Buckinghamshire. The race route winds through approximately six miles of undulating countryside at Manor House Farm within the charming village of Hardwick. Known for its varied terrain and unique water crossings, the course offers an unforgettable challenge to runners of all levels. The trail includes stretches across grassland, ploughed fields, farm tracks, streams, and ditches. Participants should be prepared for wet conditions as stream depths can vary based on weather. Race HQ is located at John Bridles Village Hall in Hardwick, Aylesbury (HP22 4DZ), where race numbers will be available from 8:30 AM onwards. Early bird entries are £20 until September 1st, general entry costs £22, and on-the-day registration runs for £24 if spots remain. With only 300 places available, this event fills up quickly. Participants must be at least 17 years old by race day. Please note that refunds or deferrals are not offered due to limited resources; however, a full refund will be issued in the unlikely event of cancellation caused by unforeseen circumstances such as severe weather. Parking is very limited and car sharing is highly encouraged. Porta-potties and basic changing facilities are provided at John Bridles Village Hall, though no showers are available on site. Refreshments including hot drinks and snacks can also be found there post-race. The race features a robust medical support system with first aid coverage readily accessible throughout the course. It's recommended that participants ensure their tetanus vaccinations are up to date before entering this event due to the nature of off-road running conditions. All finishers will receive a commemorative medal, and prizes will be awarded across various categories including overall male and female winners as well as age groups (U20, V35, V45, etc.). Team competitions also offer additional opportunities for recognition with points calculated based on the top four runners from each team. For those interested in joining a team entry, ensure you include your affiliation code during registration. Teams must consist of at least four members and will compete to achieve the lowest total point score among their first four finishers. Results will be posted promptly after the race via Bearbrook Running & Triathlon Club's website: www.bearbrookrunningclub.co.uk This event is organized by Bearbrook Running & Triathlon Club, with special thanks to Bob Gregory for allowing us to use Manor House Farm. About Hardwick
Learn more about the host city, Hardwick.
Hardwick and Hardwicke are common place names in England—this is from the Old English pre-7th century word "heorde", meaning a "herd or flock", with "wic", which like the later Viking word "thorp" described an outlying farm or settlement, which was dependent on a larger village. In some cases, "Hardwick" and "Hardwicke" are interchangeable and the spelling has evolved over time.
