Wendover Woods Running Festival Half Marathon, 10k & 5k August 2027

On August 21, 2027, runners will gather for the second edition of this challenging yet rewarding trail run through Wendover Woods. Situated within Forestry England's picturesque landscape on the edge of the Chiltern Hills, the race offers a scenic journey across nearly 350 hectares of steeply undulating woodland terrain. With an elevation gain of 181 meters, participants will navigate mature forest tracks and gravel paths that wind through dense foliage, creating a natural challenge for steady pacing and confident footing.
From start to finish, runners can enjoy clear waymarking throughout the course, supported by enthusiastic marshals cheering them on every step of the way. The event culminates in a celebratory atmosphere at the finish line where participants are greeted with panoramic views of the surrounding forested hills.
In addition to the main race, a junior run provides an exciting opportunity for families to enjoy Wendover Woods together. Kids can explore the Gruffalo trail and tackle Go Ape while adults soak up all that this beautiful woodland has to offer beyond the race itself.
