The annual Watertown Family YMCA Turkey Day Run welcomes runners of all ages and abilities to participate on Thursday, November 26th. This year marks the 43rd edition of this beloved Thanksgiving tradition, where participants can enjoy a scenic run through Watertown's picturesque streets. Registration for the event closes on Sunday, November 22nd at 9 PM EST. Packet pickup is available exclusively at the Fairgrounds YMCA in Watertown. Runners have two options to collect their race materials: Tuesday, November 24th from 2-6 PM and Wednesday, November 25th from 10 AM-3 PM. On race day, participants will gather at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints located at 20020 Ives Street Road in Watertown. Registration opens at 7:30 AM with the race starting promptly at 9:00 AM. The Turkey Day Run offers a variety of distances to suit everyone's preferences, ensuring there is something for every runner regardless of their experience level. Watertown is a city in and the county seat of Jefferson County, New York, United States. It is approximately 25 miles (40 km) south of the Thousand Islands, along the Black River, about 5 miles (8 km) east of where it flows into Lake Ontario. The city is bordered by the town of Watertown to the south, east, and west, and is served by the Watertown International Airport and the Watertown Daily Times newspaper. In the middle of Watertown lies the Public Square Historic District, which was built in 1805 and listed on the National Register of Historic Places (NRHP) in 1984. Watertown is located 13 miles southwest of the U.S. Army base at Fort Drum; it is the service and shopping destination for personnel there and their families. As of the 2020 United States census, the city has 24,685 residents, making it the largest city in the North Country.
