Join us this year at Walk Together, a cherished annual sponsored walk that aims to raise vital funds and awareness for children under 5 years old with cerebral palsy and other motor learning impairments. This family-friendly event offers two routes to suit all levels of fitness: a fully accessible 5k route perfect for beginners or those looking for a leisurely stroll, and a more challenging 15k trek through varied terrain for the adventurous. The walk is an opportunity not just to raise funds but also to come together with friends, family, or colleagues in support of Dame Vera Lynn Children's Charity. The event promises a warm sense of community as participants share their stories and goals while enjoying the scenic routes. Upon crossing the finish line, you'll be greeted by RRT’s complimentary BBQ, offering delicious refreshments to help everyone recover from their efforts. All paying participants will also receive a free medal for their achievement. Participants are encouraged to raise sponsorship funds to support children in need. While there is no set minimum amount, we kindly ask that teams aim for £125 per person as our fundraising target this year. The event provides full support throughout the walk, with experienced stewards and marshals ensuring a safe journey from start to finish. Whether you're tackling it alone or alongside friends and family, the camaraderie on display is truly inspiring. For those walking in memory of someone special, there’s an option to pin their picture onto your clothing as a tribute during the event. Please note that while we strive for safety at all times, participants are advised to consult with their doctor if they have any concerns about participating. Additionally, under-18s must be accompanied by an adult throughout the walk. We recommend that average walkers might take around one hour to complete the 5k route and approximately three hours for the more demanding 15k trek. Remember, this event is not just a physical challenge but also a heartfelt journey of support and solidarity. Join us at Walk Together and be part of making a difference in the lives of young children facing challenges due to cerebral palsy or other motor learning impairments. Registration costs £20 per person (children under 12 are free, though t-shirts and medals must be purchased separately).
