Waitārere Forest Festival

About the Event

Immerse yourself in the lush beauty of Waitārere Forest at the Land Matters Walk-Run-Roam Festival on March 21, 2027. This year's festival offers runners and walkers alike three distances: a scenic half marathon (21km), a family-friendly 10km run, and a shorter but equally enjoyable 5km route for all ages. For the first time, every participant will receive an exclusive finishers t-shirt to commemorate their journey through this pristine natural setting.
The festival takes place just minutes from Levin's central district, with easy access by car from Palmerston North and Wellington as well. As you navigate the forest trails, enjoy breathtaking views of native flora and fauna while breathing in the fresh coastal air. The event is designed for participants at all levels, ensuring that everyone can find a distance that suits their fitness level.
After crossing the finish line, take some time to relax with friends or family amidst the serene surroundings of Waitārere Forest. Explore nearby art galleries and cafes, then head down to the stunning west coast beach for a refreshing dip in the ocean waters. Don't miss out on special pricing for young participants under 19 and 12 years old, encouraging everyone to experience this unique event together.
Join us at Land Matters Walk-Run-Roam Festival as we celebrate nature and community in one of New Zealand's most beautiful settings.
