About the Event

The 32ème édition du Marathon Relais de Viriat takes place on Saturday, June 13, 2026, starting at 14:00 (2:00 PM) from the Mairie de Viriat (204 rue Prosper CONVERT, 01440 Viriat, Ain, Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes, France). This unique 7x6 km team relay marathon requires 6 runners to complete individual 6 km laps, then all 6 run the final lap together — with chip timing and relay zone exchanges.

Event Logistics & Participant Information:

Registration: Open since April 2 at 8:00 AM. Limited to 250 teams. Number of registered teams visible online.
Cutoff/Time Limit: Race starts at 14:00. Roads close to traffic at 19:30. No team can start the final group lap if the 6th individual runner has not reached the relay zone before 18:30.
Scoring/Ranking: Teams finishing together (all 6 runners grouped) are ranked. Checkpoints at aid stations. Teams must remain grouped on final lap for organizer controls.
Each runner wears a bib with team number. Electronic chip/baton is passed between runners at each relay exchange. Relays only in designated zone near finish line.
Location: Start/finish at Viriat Town Hall (Mairie), 204 rue Prosper CONVERT, 01440 Viriat, France.
