URBAN SKATING CUP - ETAPA VIA LIGHT

The Urban Skating Cup is an innovative endurance skating challenge that takes place through the bustling streets of the city, inspired by the self-sufficiency model (AUDAX). Unlike traditional races where competitors vie against each other, this event focuses on personal achievement and overcoming obstacles in a timed solo effort. Registration opens on November 5, 2026, at 6:00 AM and closes on November 18, 2026, at 11:59 PM or when the limited number of spots fills up.
On November 22, 2026, starting at 8:00 AM, a maximum of 40 skaters will take to the streets for this unique challenge. The race does not provide traffic control; participants must navigate city conditions while adhering strictly to local traffic laws. Detailed route information is available via GPX/Strava and Google Maps files, which competitors are responsible for familiarizing themselves with.
Each participant's performance is tracked using GPS apps like Strava or Garmin, and the results must be presented upon arrival at the finish line. The event emphasizes self-reliance: no hydration stations or mechanical support will be provided along the route. Skaters must carry their own supplies throughout the race, including essential protective gear such as helmets, wrist guards, knee pads, elbow protectors, and active lighting for visibility during evening hours.
Competitors are also required to bring a fully charged smartphone with navigation capabilities and a portable charger to ensure continuous use of GPS tracking tools. This event is not just about speed but also about skillful city navigation and personal perseverance in an urban setting.
