UpRiver Running Fall Races

About the Event

The UpRiver Running Fall Races return on October 2, 2027, offering runners an unforgettable experience through the scenic trails of Thunder Bay. This community-driven event features three challenging distances: a 10Km loop that winds through Shuniah Mines and back to Kinsmen Park; a 25Km course with two short out-and-back sections on single-track trails in Shuniah mines, Cascades Conservation Area, Centennial park, and Trowbridge Park; and the grueling 50Km event, which doubles the 25K route.
Participants will navigate rolling terrain and technical paths that showcase Thunder Bay's natural beauty, with aid stations strategically placed to support runners throughout their journey. The race begins at Kinsmen Park off of Trowbridge Road, where all participants will receive a finisher medal upon completion.
For younger racers, the Kids Trail Run offers 2.5Km of fun on the Prospector Skills Trail and shorter loops through Yellow and Red trails, ensuring there's something for everyone in this vibrant community event.
Runners are encouraged to bring their own reusable cups or hydration bladders as the race is cupless, but water stations will be available between aid points. The first finisher from each age division (39 & under, 40+ Masters and 50+ Grand Masters) in all three main events will receive special awards.
To enhance your experience, optional t-shirts can be purchased until September 19th via the ultrasignup "STORE" tab. Don't miss out on this chance to immerse yourself in Thunder Bay's fall scenery while pushing your limits alongside fellow runners from across various backgrounds and skill levels.
