Welcome to Ultravandringen GBG, an exhilarating long-distance hiking adventure set against the stunning backdrop of Sandsjöbacka Nature Reserve. This autumn's edition offers two challenging routes: 25 kilometers and 50 kilometers. Both courses wind through lush forests and rolling hills, providing a picturesque journey with plenty of elevation changes.
The event kicks off on September 19, 2026, at Sisjö Scoutkår, just outside the nature reserve. Participants will embark on a scenic loop that showcases the area's natural beauty while testing their stamina and endurance against varied terrain.
For those tackling the shorter distance of 25 kilometers, expect to encounter several aid stations along the way. Halfway through your journey, you'll find an energy boost with coffee and fruit at approximately 12 kilometers. You’ll start off equipped with a breakfast roll from the beginning for sustenance throughout the hike.
The more ambitious route of 50 kilometers adds another layer of challenge to this already demanding trek. A hearty lunch awaits adventurers around the halfway mark, complemented by snacks like bananas and a breakfast roll at the outset. Additional hydration stations are strategically placed every few miles to keep you energized as you traverse through diverse landscapes.
As you near the finish line after approximately 4-6 kilometers per hour of steady progress, expect an array of hearty grilled treats waiting for all participants upon completion. Each hiker will also receive a well-deserved medal in recognition of their achievement and perseverance.
