On May 22, 2027, you’ll take on a full day of movement, challenge, and time on the trails at Windrock Park.
For the first time, UltraTrax is heading to East Tennessee. Set in the mountains just outside Knoxville, Windrock is home to 73,000 acres and more than 300 miles of trails, creating a rugged backdrop of forested hills, gravel roads, dirt trails, and sweeping valley views.
This course gives you a little bit of everything. You’ll settle into the opening miles on a long descent before reaching one of the toughest sections of the loop—a sustained climb that will reward smart pacing and patience. From there, the terrain continues gradually upward before one final push brings you home.
Whether you’re here to walk 7 miles or push all the way to 28, the challenge is yours to define.
10 hours. One 7-mile loop. Four distances. How far will you go?
Complete your goal within the 10-hour event window. Want another layer of challenge? Take it on with a 10, 20, or 35 lb. ruck or weighted vest.
The course will be clearly marked from start to finish, with well-stocked aid stations positioned along the route to keep you fueled and moving.

Taking on the Ruck Challenge?

After your trek, stick around and enjoy the Camp atmosphere at Windrock. Recover, refuel, and celebrate the miles with other participants before calling it a day.
Friends and family are welcome to join you.
What to Expect at East Tennessee
A Rugged Mountain Trail Experience
Expect a mix of gravel roads and dirt trails surrounded by dense forest and wide-open mountain views. The first several miles trend downhill before the course turns upward into its most demanding climb. Windrock’s trail system ranges from smooth gravel roads to dirt, rocks, and rutted mountain terrain, giving the course a distinctly East Tennessee feel.
A Challenge You Choose
There is no single definition of success at UltraTrax. Walk your first 7 miles, chase 28, or add weight and see what you can carry.
Support Along the Way
Expect a well-marked course, stocked aid stations, event staff, and a community of people working toward their own goals alongside you.
Parking
Onsite parking will be available at Windrock Park. The park maintains trailhead parking near its General Store with additional parking nearby.
More detailed arrival, parking, course, and event-day information will be sent as Trek Day gets closer.
Move With Purpose
UltraTrax is all about spending more time outside, moving farther than you thought you could, and helping protect the places that make those experiences possible.
A portion of UltraTrax proceeds supports efforts to protect and preserve the outdoor spaces we depend on.
You’re officially part of the pack! We’ll see you in East Tennessee.
