Prades is a picturesque village in the Baix Camp region of Tarragona, known as the "Villa Roja" (Red Village) due to the characteristic red sandstone used in its buildings. It has a population of approximately 600 residents. The demographic profile of the Baix Camp region is roughly 82% Spanish-born and 18% foreign-born, with significant immigrant communities from Morocco, Romania, and South America. The median annual household income for the area is approximately €31,000. Geographically, the race traverses a protected natural area featuring Mediterranean forests and limestone cliffs. The climate in mid-April is usually pleasant but fresh at higher altitudes; average temperatures in Prades range from a low of 6°C (43°F) to a high of 16°C (61°F). Runners should be prepared for variable mountain weather, as spring storms can occur frequently in the Prades range.
Registration is currently open, with participant caps of 250 bibs for most individual distances and 100 for the Stage Run. The "Runner's Bag" includes a commemorative 2026 technical t-shirt, with optional merchandise such as technical socks and belts available for purchase. For those requiring accommodation, the town offers various campsites and rural houses specializing in sports tourism. Mandatory equipment lists vary by distance but generally include a thermal blanket, whistle, and hydration system. For technical communications regarding the 2026 routes or specific check-in times at the Prades Tourism Office, participants are encouraged to visit the official event website or contact race director Joan Carbonell.
